KROSSBREED - CARVED IN STONE

INDEPENDENT

METAL TO INFINITY

Time to give some necessary attention to Krossbreed who was formed in Antwerp-Belgium back in 2003. "Carved In Stone" is Krossbreed's new and third effort. Debuted with "Down To the Core" in June 2005, there was a follow-up entitled "Enjoy The Rage" that see the light of day in December 2006. Both were released in an independent way, the music on it was 'loud, wild and heavy'...better defined as the 'Thrash / Deathcore Metal'. This isn't stuff for weak souls...only the 'strong' will survive Krossbreed's style of Metal music.

After the release of their second MCD, the band had the opportunity to take part of a competition, more specifically called the 'Belgian Wacken Open Air Metal Battle' that happened in the spring of 2007. The winner should play at the great Wacken Open Air fest which was an honour to represent the Belgian Metal scene for thousands maniacs. Krossbreed won the 'battle' and went to Germany, climbing up the stage to fight the fight, a battle between 15 bands. Krossbreed brought on a brilliant set, the crowd freaked-out...finally, the jury gave the band a fourth 'well deserved' place. Metal maniacs from all over the world saw a great band on stage, Krossbreed added their name on the map for sure!

Back home from the Wacken experience, the guys started with the writing process of new songs for a next output, actually a 5 song independent MCD that is unleashed by now! Five tracks that'll blow you away in an 'eye rise'. Fast and furious, nothing can stop this tank loaded with explosive ammunition. Free style playing the music they like seems to be these guys' motto...i must admit, they have succeeded delivering a great result. Brutal, aggressive vocals in the vein of Max Cavalera and sweat-spitting guitar moves able to mawn everything in their pathways. The collaboration of bass and drum lines matches good to me. I'd like to place Krossbreed's new release "Carved In Stone" on top of the international Thrash / Deathcore bandlist. To name but a few: Machine Head, Hatebreed, Soulfly, Lamb Of God and Down.

The songs' compositions are real good, the production is 'fat'...as for an independent release, all looks far above the average. By the way, this MCD was recorded in the studio of Peter De Wint (ex-Crossfire and Mystery). Is this a step ahead for Krossbreed? Well i think so and i goddamn hope these guys get the chance spreading their 'way of Metal' via a record label. I want a recall  right away to all record companies able to work along with a few musicians, charged with loads of energy and ambition. Kinda brutal, aggressive but straight to the core and technical...hook Krossbreed up and see what the future will bring. I believe in a good result.
