Krossbreed has been doing their thing since 2003. The thing they’ve been doing is somewhat a hardcore / metal crossbreed. And how they’ve been doing that thing quite decently.

The Belgians have had a history of being a cover band playing Sepultura and Metallica covers. “Just for fun” their bio reads. Thank heavens they weren’t doing that under threat!

All in all their demo Enjoy The Rage (we do enjoy a good rage here at Metalrage) doesn’t really hide those influences. In fact it displays them fully, and doesn’t really seem to leave room for an own distinctive sound, which makes it kind of flat in a way.

However Krossbreed have been around for some years, it still seems the band is searching for a niche within the genre to excel in. What this band needs is something that makes the listener go: ‘this is Krossbreed’, not ‘this is a band playing metal with Sepultura influences’. For now, it’s the latter.
